Hi all-

I am just getting started with gas and intend on buying a 30 CC DLE as my entry size for my Piper Pawnee.

I am just curious-where is the best place to buy the engine as the prices are about the same.

Choices are:

Tower Hobby
Advantage Hobby
Chielf Aircraft
Troy Built.

Where can I expect the best service, help in installation, etc?

Valley View is the ONLy place to buy your gas engines. Jody is the absolute best, and is a really GREAT guy! Just another opinion thrown into the arena.......

Valley View...main reason is customer service. You actually get to speak to the Jody the man that will work on your engine... Try getting that service with tower.... plus when u buy a new engine from them they send you a genuine NGK plug

I just order my DLE 30 from Valley view with 2 Xoar 20x6 props and he threw a third one in for Free! Great service!

Definitely avoid troy built. I just purchased the dle 111 newsletter special except they shorted me the plugs and battery eliminator. Now they've told me that they wont service or warranty my brand new, 4 day old, dle 111.... Also told me good luck with finding anyone to warranty the engine for me...

If you have not run it...send it back to them....get your credit card company to help get your money back. Places like that want to make a killing....these engine are priced up way to darn much...no matter where you buy them. Don,t let anyone tell you different! Capt,n

I just called tbm. Reached the person that sold me the engine (of course). I told him that I'd like to return the engine. He told me to hold on a second, then put me over to voice mail..... So I left a message that i'd like to return the engine...

I also sent an email to the main addy. I received an automated response saying that Bill was out of the office this week and to contact Jeff if needing an earlier response. So, I sent Jeff the same email to Jeff. We'll see what happens...
