From my experience, the vibrations from 80cc singles are strong from middle throttle and up. Here we are talking about constant shaking during most of the fly. The airframe, especially the engine box takes direct hit. Screws and bolts can easily loose their grips and back out. So can The spark plug cap. The areas on the wood firewall supporting the standoffs will take beat and become soft. The thrust angle can become off because of that. ...

The bottom line is that one needs to put extra effort to maintain the plane, and the plane, if it is a wood ARF, will not last.

I am talking about my airframe which has an weight about 22lb.

My fibreglass 97" Zero weighs in around 30lbs and is extremely strong built.
The manufacturer has special procedures you have to follow to beef it up if you opt for a DA-85
My MVVS80 is in that plane now

All this chatter and still nobody has offered any performance on the new ZDZ 90. I wonder if they are available?

There is a guy on FG with one but the airframe it is going in is not yet complete. I am still considering buying one, I had one on order last winter. There ended up being a bunch of delays with the release and I ended up getting something else. I spoke to AMR a couple of months back and at that time every one they had received had been sold. They also had more orders for them on hand and were waiting for another shipment of them. This tells me there are a bunch of them out there but not in the hands of those that frequent these forums.

The ZDZ is one of the premium engine lines and as such will be difficult to gain info about here. TFC and FG, along with big warbird sites, will be the best sources for anything with a higher price tag. Most of the participants in this forum raced to the bottom some time back.

We actually have more than we've ever had. The selections reduce significantly after passing 116cc, but that has always been the case. In truth even in that area we have more choices now than we did 5 years ago.
