So far the best little Gasoline engine power to weight I have been working with is the DLE 20. I put one in a Worrld Models Zero .60. The engine runs great good transition, starts easy and weighs the same as the Thunder Tiger .91 Four stroke engine. It has a rear carb although for the Zero it wouldn't have made a difference but for a P51 that would be a plus. It would be nice if some of these glow to Gas conversions would work but I had a JBA 15cc that that was terrible -could have been a lemon but I would never want to go through making an engine like that run again. It would be nice though if a company was able to make a good reliable 10cc engine that runs like the bigger gassers. In the HiModel site one purchaser gave this 9cc engine a one star as he couldn't get it to run.
By the way what size engine would the 9-10cc engine work in a .46 size

The NGH 9cc weighs about the same a 46 size glow. Would it be a replacement for a 55ax?

If you are looking for a fishing weight - most likely it would work just as well (but that would be a waste of a 55AX).

If you are looking at placing it on a plane that you wish to fly - Consider the entire weight, engine, ignition, ignition power supply (Even an IBEC cables and switch adds some weight).
For 3D (which seems to be your preference) wing loading is pretty important.

many years ago, Chinese glow engine manufactories copied OS glow engine as a criterion and retained till now, so all Chinese glow engine is same dimension as OS include the installations and muffler connection dimensions....etc.
40 series is a classical size all these years, manufactories always make three size on the same crankcase but different liner for different displacement. the three size is .40, .46, .52, later, nobody use .40 because almost same dimension and weight, but 40 is less HP, so they prefer .46 and .52, later manufactories want to make bigger on this size, they increased the cylinder bore to get the .56 displacement on the same crankcase of .52. so .56 appearred years ago.
GT9 is based on a .56 glow engine size, but the different output on Nitro and petrol on same displacement, caused on the dfferent fuel speciality. so usually 9cc is less output than .56 size glow.
NGH fuel-delivery-system solved the problem for fuel-transition just, it is with pump and regulator for petrol not for nitro, you can try other carb with this system is ok.others details are all same.

pascual,
thanks for the info so it seems from your readings of the different props this engine is good for plane that are around the 3kg range for scale or 2.5kg for 3D. I would like to know how much does the muffler effect the numbers you posted?

I know the rpm numbers is nothing without a flying test. But i'm very busy now. I've tested this little small engine without muffler because i think is better on a new engine at break-in phase. Also i'm testing the engine with many mufflers to see how it performs . The exhaust pattern of port and holes is the same as OS55AX, JBA56F and more. i'm planning to test with AX box exhaust, Tower muffler, stock NGH , TT46 pro muffler and a tuned pipe.
Best regards

This same engine(As CC) glow type, gives 13000+ RPM with unbaffled 3 piece original muffler ,no nitro full castor homebrew fuel and nonbrand 11-6 prop. This is JBA 56 F.Gives nearly unlimited vertical to a 3+ kgs. plane.(Prop 12-5,5 MAS)

Here is another really well tuned, great performing 0.40 sized Bipe on similar power as the previous couple of videos.Really clean running, very quiet, very neat install and a VERY low fuel price per flight

Alright guys i thought i might make a vid since it would be alot easier to explain to everyone my issues with my engine. they are three main issues im having
1) bubbles coming out of the carb when starting up which is causing issues when starting
2) engine cutting up at full throttle
3) alot of fuel residue and blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. which I think it's due to having too much fuel: oil mix (i''m using 20:1) which i will try to use my normal 32:1 fuel that I use on all other planes to see if it makes a difference.
my setup 11x7 prop. with 4.8v on the ignition

When Are they going to come out with a little or big gasoline 4-stroke engine so you can get the realistic airplane sound and save on fuel. That would be a big break through. They should have already had the little glow to gasoline engine worked out by now. There is one but I heard it was a big lemon!!
