So I did buy that plane I posted a few posts back. Should be here in about 7 days or so, two VERY LARGE boxes LOL I am super pumped, scared, nervous, all at the same time. I just want everything to go smoothly.
I will most likely have questions guys, be prepared! LOL
The engine is a CCRC 40cc. What is the easiest way to measure out a 35:1 fuel ratio for my engine? That is the mixture the previous owner was using. Would a 32:1 mixture be alright? I have read 80:1 is recommended for this engine. Anyones thoughts?
Also where is a good place to get some synthetic 2-cycle oil for the ol' bird? Do I need anything speacial for oil?
Thanks in advance.
George

If you have access to a lawnmower shop you can get some there. If you have access to the internet, Amazon has Stihl HP Ultra. Some marine stores will have it also, and they usually have bottles for measuring oil and gas.

Here you go, brotha http://www.ebay.com/itm/260911600778...#ht_663wt_1163
I got one recently and it's perfect
You can find them locally if you have a "Cycle Gear" or any other motorcycle shops in your area.
I'm running 50:1 with Redline two-stroke synthetic in all of my gassers from 26cc to 150cc

Anyone remember "Flight of the Phoenix"? (Both the old movie and the new one.)

It's actually really easy guys. You just divide the ratio desired by the amount of fuel. For example: RATIO = 32:1 *** 128 oz. of fuel in one gallon of gas. 128/32 equals 4 oz. of oil. 128 divided by 50 is 2.56 oz. of oil for a 50:1 ratio. (The math is easy. The hard part is getting caught by your wife using the kitchen measuring cup for your oil!!)

Hey everyone!!
I got my plane, came yesterday. Took me over an hour just to get it unpacked. This thing is huge! Looks awesome!
Well I got the 40cc engine mounted up. I cleaned up the wiring etc... Got prop on, got my radio binded, throttle hooked up. Everything seems to be going well.
The prop is a 18x8, is there a better size prop I should be using for this plane? The engine is a CCRC 40cc engine, all broke in and ready for action.
What would be the best ratio of oil for this plane? I have fully synthetic oil ready to be mixed.
I have two 2150mah Nimh 4-cell Rx packs, one 2000mah 5-cell nimh ignition battery (with 6v regulator installed) The three switches all have the charging jacks also. I need a charger to charge all of these. What is the best, easiest and most efficient way to do this?
I do use a DX7 and have the charger that will charge the two 4-cell packs but I assume would take quite some time. Still would need something for the 5-cell ign. pack.
Thanks
