removing reed valves

Default removing reed valves

can you remove a reedvalve and carb base on a QUADRA 75 and just put on AN Older, mabey a 3w 60 carb base,
bolt the carb , will it run?

Nope. When the piston goes up, it creates vacuum. When it goes down, it creates pressure. That pressure will go right out the carb. Good luck, red

The reed valves allow the air fuel mixture charge to enter on the vacuum part of the stroke and on the pressure part of the stroke block off the charge from going out of the carb.
Basically if you can find a reed valve block that will fit the engine, then it will likely work OK. The reed valves are basically the same for most all of the engines, but they do come in different shapes and sizes. So if you find something that will fit, it will likely work OK.

ive actually got part#s for the reed valve assembly , for the engine , but have not found the parts
does anyone have any ideas about where i can find the part?
