Default Eme 60 electric starter motor replacement?

Hey guys... Had this motor in my GS spitfire for awhile now..LOVE IT!! However I over did with the starter Switch when today it was hesitant to fire up. I think/know I burnt out the starter motor. I removed it and it won't spin plus I can see broken windings. I realize I can contact EME and ask for a replacement motor, though I didn't see any listed on the site... But I was wondering if I could just source one off the shelf at some electrical place like SAYAL here in Canada. It's 35mm Dia. 72mm long. But the area I'm grey in is the kV. The stock one is operated on a 3cell LiPo. 12.7v. But this motor has to put out some serious torque.

Any thoughts? Would appreciate any helpful responses.

I would be tempted to install a brushless equivalent. I've seen it done, I have one of these starters on a 50cc I'm thinking of converting, I'm sure the size of the motor could be halved and gets loads of torque with some off brand brushless and a standard rc controller.

Interesting.. What size motor and KV do you think you/we would need. Plus what about the switch? Is that not designed for Brushed.. or does it matter.

I couldn't tell you exactly but take a read at this post back from a few years ago. I stumbled upon it when I first installed my eme and got me thinking about it. He mentions some motor sizes and how to convert.

Good luck, when I finally burn mine out I'll be going down the same road.
