Breaking in a Saito FG30B
Getting ready to break in my Saito gas 4 stroke engine for my 1/4 J3 cub For breaking in engine, do you guys use the same set up as you would have in your airplane or can I use a different size fuel, tank, etc...Thanks in advance.

I do all my engine break ins on a test stand using a lager capacity fuel tank other than the one in the aircraft. That way I can run the engine for a good hour if needed without having to stop to refuel.

My break in is always to :
get the engine running pretty well on the prop I will be using
fly the engine installed doing loops ,full throttle up lines low throttle down lines ( heating and cooling)
I never recommend long bench runs (not enough cooling)
