Default RCGF 20cc Twin Head problem

I have a new RCGF 20cc twin. The spark plug is 1/4-32 and I cross threaded one. I thought, well just get a new head and throw on. The head is the 10cc SE. I have broken 3 rings trying to get it on. Any tips on getting the head back on without messing up the ring? I have 4 more on order.

Does the piston ring groove have a pin in it?
Did you line it up right?
Usually just squeezing the ring in the groove while pushing the side away from the pin into the head then squaring it up in the head works for me.

I think you pointed me to the problem. I had not seen that before. I have it mounted and was not really noticeable until you pointed it out. Thanks!

Too many times companies get a bad rap for different things. I think it is at least as important if not more we give the companies a good rap when they do good. I crewed up my cylinder head by cross threading the spark plug. I ordered another cylinder head from RCGF.. They shipped the wrong head. They quickly and I mean quickly shipped me a new head and extra rings. (20cc twin grabbed a 20cc single head which should have been the 10cc single). After another bone head move not realizing the pin in the piston groove I broke the 3 rings in frustration. After reading the second post hear my error was crystal clear.

I got on the web site and ordered 3 more rings. I got a shipping notice and then a phone call. "Can I help you with your issue?" Who does that any more. I know how hard it is to make a buck and we need every good R/C company we can keep.

When people step up like this, others should know.

This is simply wonderful news as this level of Customer Service is becoming quite scarce. I am assuming that you ordered the required items from RCGF engines, the USA location.

Yes, I know it's easy to dis a company but when they go out of their way, it should be noted.
