Default Tank Position "on" CG

Hello,

I am getting close to completing my first gasser: a KMP Hurricane with a Roto25. I would like to position the tank "on" the cg, to make the balance less sensitive to fuel consumption. When you guys put tanks "on" the cg in your planes, what exactly does this mean? Are you literally putting the center of the tank on the cg? My initial thought is that this might cause a tail heavy situation if on landing the remaining fuel moves to the rear of the tank. Am I being overly concerned here about the actual effect this might have? Is the safest approach to put the rear of the tank on or just slightly behind the cg?

Thanks,

Travis

IMO, not a big deal, In my planes from small glow up to 41% none are on the cg and have not had a problem, or even noticed a cg change in flight personally

Put the center of the tank on the CG. No trim change on the elevator during the flight. Standard procedure for pattern and IMAC planes.

I had a Giant Stinger with G62 and 20 oz tank. The fuel tank on these things are right against the firewall. By the time the tank was 1/2 empty, my elevator trim would change 1 "beep" on my 8UAFS transmitter. The tank on my Wild Hare 28% is much closer to the cg, and I can't tell any difference with it.

Yes, I put the center of the tank on the CG. Sixteen ounces of gas weigh quite a bit and will slightly affect elevator trim if the tank is placed way ahead of the CG.
