Bob, I guess what I posted was taken in the wrong frame as it was meant. For that I publically apoligise to you if it offended you. Certainly we at Taurus appreciate all you have done in promoting the Taurus engine. And it is our hope that you would accept my apoligy.
If you would like to continue to use the avatar please do so. In fact why not title it Taurus II or something like that.
I hope this post will also serve to answer any others on this thread that WE do value your opinions and support.

I would also add that we feel very appreciative to all who have made favourable comments regarding the Taurus. And we will continue to do our best for our customers.

Bob if you have tried to call I'm not aware of it. Please PM me your phone number.

I'll have to remove my cowl to make the image, so it'll take a little while.

Here is the picture you requested on my throttle instalation. It's really quite straight forward. Study the picture carefully and you'll see how I ran the linkage to my servo. You may have to zoom in for better detail. Hope these pics help you.

Ralph, you are correct and your illistration is great. (as usual) but, his question to me, (asked on another thread) was, "Will you post a picture showing how you hooked the throttle up on your "TAURUS" engine. As a favor to him that is what I am attempting to do. Everyone has their way of doing things. This was my way, on this particular engine on this particular plane. Your way is also great and probably much more elaborate than mine. But mine, as simple as it may be is working for me. Now thanks to you, he has another illistration showing how it can be done. I'm sure there are many other ways to acheive the same outcome. Mine is just one of those.

Bob,
Does that linkage come with the motor or is it something you fabricated? It looks like it is also a spacer under the carb block. Thanks. I am sending in a deposite on one of these engines. It will go in a 27% CA 300L.

Wings-rcu, Sorry for the delay, just very busy with a ton of things.

We are looking into the header situation and trying to come up with a simple but effective design for the 3.2 and other engines in our line.
One design allows you to adjust the angle of the header to the flange.

Boy Steve, you are really going to have one HOT airplane. Yes, everything you see in my picture, comes allready mounted. Bill O (T1) at Taurus, does all the work for us. You'll remember the day when you run your Taurus engine, for the first time, and there are a lot of guy's reading this thread right now that don't know "THERE'S A TARUS IN THEIR FUTURE." Let us know how your project go's and if I can be of farther asisstance let me know.

Sorry, I could never see why ANY engine manufacturer would design an engine and use the stock chainsaw carb block and associated bell crank linkage when the G10 block is cheaper.. And the K.I.S.S. principle applies, no bell cranks to get loose..No play, the servo connects directly to the carb...

Personally it seems pretty simple to me, and very smooth operating. I like the bellcrank setup myself.

I also don't have to worry about any metal to metal contact, since the bellcrank is nylon, there is zero play in this setup.

I don't disagree. I'm just not familiar with your technique since I've never seen it's application on an aircraft. Therefore, I'm forced use what has worked for me over the years.

Thanks Bob. I can't wait to spin the prop. It should be strait forward if it come with that linkage.

RCIGN1,
I think I know what you are refering to. Is that the same block that Zenoah switched to??

Taurus looked at doing the relocating of the carb about 3/4 years ago.
Think of this, A G10 block has to be machined $$$$$$
Or a mould has to be made to make a new insulator block $$$$$$
Cost of manufacture vs number of units sold. $$$$$$$
Added cost to the customer $$$$$$$
Now the throttle plates are done on a waterjet machine 50pcs in 60 seconds.
Our cases are done on precision CNC machining centers.
Our bearings are precision high rpm ball and roller.
The seal is high presure high temperature double lip.
Our engines are not manufactured in some ones basement or garage nor are the cases cast from porous aluminum but machined from solid aircraft grade aluminum alloy billets.
As for the throttle linkage, it is simple, effective and the throttle response is second to none.
Our efforts are to produce a quality engine at a reasonable cost.
We believe the testimonies seen on this thread as well as others prove Taurus must be doing something right. To our knowledge there have been NO issues regarding bearing, crank, or rod failures. We respect opinions and suggestions that might improve our product quality and performance. And will continue to look into issues that will benefit the product and customer.
Proudly made in the U.S.A

We don't make 10,000 units a year like Zenoah,(a good engine)

T 1, MY ADVISE....... If it aint broke, don't fix it. As I said to someone else that PM'd me, espousing the virtues of another engine (45cc) that's being highly advertised on these threads for the last week, "Prove to me that you have a better engine than the "TAURUS," and I'll buy it. I haven't heard another word from him since my reply. (I have the emails to prove what I'm saying is true). Buy the way, I will extend this offer to any other engine manufacture'r, that can prove they make a better engine in the 50cc class, than my TAURUS 3.2.

Bill,
I'm pleased to see that the linkage is part of the package. From the photos on the web site it does not show the linkage included. I've strugled in this area of setup before and you have made it simple by including it with the engine. Thanks.

Steve it was our intention to eliminate as much installation work as possible for the customer.
Especially for the newbies. I to struggled in the past(many-many) years ago.
And Bob L said if ain't broke don't fix it. But if something were to improve an issue and it was possible to do then we will take a hard look at it.
