Default A change in the 3W80xi wrap-around header?

I got a crack in my old one... (wrapped it with copper wire till the new one came in) the new one's first bend is 3/4 to an inch further away from the mounting flange. No big deal right? wrong!! I had to cut a hole in the side of the cowel for the bend!! (AM 33% yak)

WHY?? Did they do this because of cracks?

This kind of has me steamed!

Default RE: A change in the 3W80xi wrap-around header?

Mine broke after 80 flights I think it was. I soldered one up from the KS ss fittings, but I had to cut my cowl also to get it in on the AM 33% Yak. Could be they changed the bend to help alleviate the breaking??????

Tried to post some pics but it won't let me. [:@]
