21 engines shipped today and more will go out tomorrow; yours is one of the shipped ones. You should be getting an email from FedEx shortly which will include tracking information.
Thanks again,
Bob

what are you going to do now with two bad engines that were ship to you,are you going to roll the dice for a third one.i would not be able to handle it when you are trying to get a plane in the air and can't even get a prop to bolt on to the engine!! maybe get your money back if that is possible and get one from DLUSA at lease they have some pride in there Q.C.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Just got back from running my DL-50. Ran great with the new carb, thanks Bob. Running a Vess 22b, on lawnboy ashless 32:1. It's mounted on a Chip Hyde Cap-X, maiden will hopefully be this weekend. Should be ridiculous.

Skypilot,
I didn't realize the prop bolt holes were off. You are correct, you can't run it without a prop, sorry for the comment.
As for Peakmodels, I don't think they actually stock the engine (I could be wrong). I assume they drop ship them from China (either from the DL factory, or from Tymodel).
No I don't want to get into the ignition market.

I just received my engine from DL USA---Looks very nice!!! After inspection everything looks great...The castings are wonderful and the prop from a DA50 bolted right up with no problems....Appears to be well made!!! I'm happy with the inspection!!!
I just have one question---What is the coil spring used for that is packaged with the spark plug and the fiberglass throttle arm???

Hi Kevin,
Glad you're happy.
The coil spring is a spare for in case you loose the original that's in the spark plug cap, which is there for positive grounding between the plug and cap. They can go flying on their own at times.
The fiberglass throttle arm is for you to use if you want a longer arm than what's on the carb. It's easily epoxied to the original.
ENJOY!!!

Thanks guys!! In between my post and this I just "discovered" where the spring goes---It came flying off when I removed the spark plug boot from the spark plug during a test fit...I would assume that the smaller, tapered end goes up inside of the boot toward the tip???...Or is it vice versa??? The spring just threw me off as I have never seen one before with the half dozen or so gas engines that I've owned---At least I've never noticed it before..

Wow, .. so glad I waited and ordered my engine from Bob. The included extras really let me know I made the right decision!
If you're on the fence about where to buy, I heartily recommend you buy from DLUSA.NET !

Just recieved my engine also. Everything looks great.
Is this the same bolt pattern as the Da?
It says in the manual to run the engine on the ground for 2 hours@2500 and then to run it for 2 more hours @4000 rpm. Is it nessary to do this or can I run a couple of tanks through it on the ground and then fly it to finish the break in.

Yes, it's the same bolt pattern as DA.
Those are the manufacturer's recommendations. Our engines have been broken in this manner and they run great. One has 36hrs on it and was just opened up for inspection and it looked excellent. I expect it’ll look as good in 500hrs. If I’m still alive then, I’ll open it up and check.

bobkra,
You should run one with the breakin suggested by craigteffe. You can report your findings, good or bad, to let others know what to expect if they run it in in that manner. It might be perfectly fine.

I believe others already have, Mike M. (bosshossv8) for example, and had excellent results. Even so, being a representative of the manufacturer, I feel like I should support his recommendations especially since my experience with them is very favorable.
How an engine should be broken in is one of those subjects that will be debated far, far beyond my years. Same as what type or brand of oil to use, etc. For me, the 4hrs went very quickly and was a small price to pay for excellent running engines.
