RE: DL-50 engine
I got another one question. What about the igniotion advancing? I wrote some posts ago about little tach readings. Today my friend told me theres a little possibility of adjusting the hall sensor on the carter. And then i realised my poor revs, strange idle are very typical for too late ignition( i dont know if in english its correctly said). I hope when i check my sensor it will not appear to be at the most advanced position

You're right, different spring. I thought you were asking about the CARB shaft spring.
The extra that comes from DL USA is for the SPARK PLUG, and it does replace the one that will vanish after you remove the cap the first time (they go to the same place the socks go from the clothes dryer)

I guess I better get something on mine then. I took the spring off completely and it does have that sideways slop. Other then that it runs just fine.
Now I guess that means taking the whole steeeinking thing apart.

sorry i do not have a digital camera yet .but i will try to clarify.the adjustment screws on the carb stick out right.slide a straw over them.now try to put a screwdriver down the straw you will be on the screw evry time . all you have to do is glue the straws side by side and they cover both adjustment screws put them through a hole in the side of the cowling with a small flange (i use light ply)to screw the straw assembly to the cowling .thats it it is pretty cool even will hold your screwdriver when you take your hands off .

(MAT)i have run it it just did not give me more power and i had to go so lean to keep it clean amsoil is not varrible mix. should run 50 at 50 100 at 100 something about the additives thats why i started running IPONE its multi mix.mix it where your engine likes it best (temp&rpm)and it took that nasty clicking out of my engine

RE: DL-50 engine
Running problems might be due to ignition timing. If you have a look at Bob's most excellent web site and download the RC exl ignition
instructions, it includes a timing disc to print out. They recommend the timing set at 28 to 30 degrees btdc static. Is this the correct setting for this engine? Anyone checked the timing on their DL yet?

May be worth looking at some time, just to know.... good point to make!

Rammjett,
I would not think of you as being mean, I know that you are trying to help,
I had enter this forum to see what info I could get be for I purchase a DL engine and because of the info that I read here I whent and purchase a DL and I will say at this time Im happy with it, I did check DA forums and did not find the kind of folks that I have found here, and since the two engines have simmilar conponants and the nolage that you and bob have offer I felt at ease in briging this problem up with you all.

RE: DL-50 engine
Well guys, after sitting 3 1/2 months dry, I fueled my DL. I spun the prop a couple of times to prime, turned on the ignition and choke... 3 tries spinning the prop and she popped. Turned off the choke .. 2 spins and it fired right up. I can't wait for a good, warm, non- 30 mph gusts day.

I'm with you. I have a bottle of BelRay set to go. I just want to run the rest of a gallon of lawnboy at 32:1 thru before switching to synthetic. That's what Bob Kramer at DLUSA said to do.
