AREA 51 and Extreme Flight 88" Extra (Vedio added) Plus one more
The AREA 51 had so much power in the 80” we decided to get one of the Extreme Flight 88” extra’s
Man what a plane this is, Comes with everything you need down to the pilot and nothing out of place. Went together with ease and flies as good as any 40% plane we have ever had.
Came out at 16 lbs 3 ozs all up less fuel
Did some more RPM readings and thrust test with the plane and will post the videos and pictures later
Vess 23-a prop and 7250 RPM
The first runs with a 22-A were 7050 and went up from there after running for a while
Was scared that I was going to over rev the engine so decided to go with the 23-A to get the RPM down some.
New video added
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQtp-XURsOE
Here is a short vedio, /wind was rough and hard to get the plane to low, Hope to get better one a little later

I've been keeping an eye on this one, and after a good long chat with Milton I think this could be a little gem, so much so, I've prised my wallet open and placed an order.
Just got to wait now for the postie to do his or her thing .
oh.! and get an airframe.
I been looking at a PA edge any other suggestions..?

If this thing keeps building power I will have to go to a 24" prop, To bad Vess does not make one.
Was going to make a vedio of RPM but got in to late.
Paul, Your motor shipped today priority, Now lets see how long it takes for you to get it, I sent some Carbs to China over two weeks ago and they still have not arrived, Want ship anything else to China by Post Office. [:@]

The engine sounds sweet! Man their sure seems to be a lot better quality engines comming from China these days. Will have to keep my eye on this thread to see how things pan out once people start buying and how good the service and warranty work is.

If your are looking for a USA distributor for Area 51 engines, here is the link.
They are having a sale at the moment..

You can never have enough power, as you can always throttle back.

Took just over a week to get here which is faster than some UK suppliers can manage. [sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif]
If this performs as good as it looks, its going to be up there with best, it sure is something to be proud of..!!
Just got to strap it to my bench now, and run this piece of man jewellery up..!!![sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif]
I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Many Thanks.
Paul.

Not to flame Area 51,or Milton or Norbert..
But surprised, that people LOOK at motors like jewelry and judge the quality by the outside???? This has ben going on all over, with various brands. If the guts dont hold up ,who cares how pretty the engine seems from the exteriour???
As I said above,a 100 hours in the Extreme Flight Extra 300,with variable performance runs, then have the engine examined for tolerences and wear, then you can brag about the motor if it all looks good [)]

RE: AREA 51 and Extreme Flight 88" Extra
I just purchased one of these from Milton. I was at the Fly-In in Americus GA. and after watching the Extreme Flight perform with this engine I had to have one. The new Area 51 is currently on my table. It will have a home on a Giant Stinger. The engine looks good, performs good and has a good price. More to come about this engine soon.
Milton thanks for importing this engine.
Hope to see you and Allen at SEFF

Nitro wing
All I was doing was giving my first impressions straight out the box.
Which when all said and done, thats the first thing any modeller does ,inspects the goods with his or her eyes,
and a good many will buy purely on looks alone, not the right way I know.
If the internal parts have received the same care and attention as the external ,then it should be a good one,
however, I know looks can be deceiving as you have rightly said, and only time will tell after its had a good few hours
thrown at it.
I was in the market for a 50cc motor and looked at others but decided that I would take a chance on something new to
scene something untried and tested and have a bit of fun doing it.
Somebody has to take a chance, otherwise we wouldn't be where we are now because no new products would reach the market.
If this motor has any weak points, as a engineer, I have a good chance of finding it.
Wish me luck

RE: AREA 51 and Extreme Flight 88" Extra (Vedio added)
Thanks to all for your input on this product, We have been months testing and making changes to it in an effort to make it one of the best engines possible.
I have tested a large number of China made engines that for a lack of better word off the shelve and sold to anyone that would make a large order.
The factory that manufactures this engine is one on one with me and we communicate just about daily about how to make and keep it one of the best you can get at a reasonable price.
Will there be some problems, I am sure there will be. No one can make the perfect product but the test will be support,
I have been into gas engines for about 10 years and have done quiet a few conversions over the years that are still flying today, So keeping on top of and correcting problems will not be a problem, We are stocking all the parts for the engine for fast repairs if needed here in the US.
It did not turn out to be one of the lightest engine out there but for a reason, One is the mounting ear’s. They are about double the size of most and that way for a reason, Incase of a mishap they will hold up and not break, Another is the prop bolts, They are case hardened steel and not the light weight one's that could possibly shear under the torque of the motor.
Again thanks to all for your input, This is what it take to make a good product, I am listening
