Where does Stihl oil come from.
I figure that Stihl do not make their own oil and wondered if anyone knows who supplies them with the oil that they package and sell under their brand name. The red colour has me wondering.

Stihl 2 stroke oils are semi and full sythentic oils and can be used throughout the life of an engine and not only for break-in purposes.

Can't tell you who refines the oil for Stihl and the stuff I'm using is the regular dino from what this reply by a Stihl CS rep told me. He first asked what color the bottles were and I told him I'm using the orange ones:
>The oil is standard oil. Our HP Super (black bottle) is a synthetic
>blend and our HP Ultra (white bottle) is fully synthetic.
>Best regards,
>Bob Myers
>Customer Support Lead/Technical Advisor
>Stihl Inc.
So depending on which oil you buy that is labeled "Stihl", it can be straight dino, a blend or straight synthetic.
Oh, bye the way the oil I'm using is blue....[8D]
