Let`s talk some gassers.

I am building the sig extra 300xs and want to put an gasser on it!
Since this is my first big plane i don`t want an high wing loading.

I was adviced to put an os 160FX on it.
The mvvs 1.6 gasser almost wheights the same.
Is this an good gasser for this plane and how would the performance be?

I was also looking at the fpe 2.1 engine.
This one is an bit heavier and more expensive!

Reading some previous posts it looked like the extra needs some nose wheight, so i might put in an heavier engine.

So maybe you can help me decide!
As i said i want to keep it as light as possible but an glow engine is not an option.
As for performance, i need to learn how to fly an big plane and do some arobatic flying.
But as soon as i feel confident with an plane I will hover it!
I don`t think the mvvs will hover this plane?

Any help would be really appreciated!

I know this is from January, but I just saw the post. The Sig Extra XS is a great plane. I had one for years and it was one of my favorites. I flew it with an O.S. 160 and it was "perfect" for this plane.
I wish I still had it.
