Default Mobil oil-1 ????????

Would like to know if anyone has had any recent experience using Mobil oil-1

I have searched the internet and found that it was discontinued by Mobil over a year ago and read on another site that the shelve life was one year.

Now with a shelve life of one year, What could go wrong if you use it, Would it break down and not do the job the it was made for or still work fine as if it was not a year old.

Now all the things I said above is what I have read and do not know to be true or not.

Just something I would really like to know.

Picture below is the bottle that I am referring to.

Thanks
Milton

Never heard of that short shelf life, and it seems highly improbable. Even Castor oil lives longer.
MVVS still has a generous stock that was made for them (dyed red) which they supply with every new rear carb engine. They would not use it if it has a one year shelf life.

Not sure about Mobil 1 but I bought a few bottles of Mobil 1 Racing 2T 3 or 4 years ago and have been using it in a ZDZ engine ever since with no problems.

turnover?
The two stroke oils have changed along with their 4-T oils, following technical devellopments of oil concoctions and changing customer demands. Nothing wrong with that.
Now that the two stroke market is saturated with dedicated two stroke scooter oils of FD quality rating, there is little to keep Mobil in the market with their quite high price. Numbers were getting too low for a high turnover policy firm, so they stopped production.

I think here in the US , the oil you find at your big discount chains is mostley brands that make the seller more of a profit margin. It is getting hard to find lot of the brands that once was to be found on the shelf of your favorite retail outlet!! Capt,n
