RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
I worry about putting it on the site...because for sure, several will download it and print it out and it will not be correct...and drill their firewall.
We will be happy to mail one to someone that is interested in the engine...this way their are no 4 letter words.

Todd,
I really needed the dimensions to make spacers , I don't need to drill it at the moment. Are you emailing or mail mailing ?? The only four letter word I'm thinking of is Ship??

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
I am new to the gasser engine biz, but when I read threads about all of the problems with the cheap engines, I just am not interested in dealing with crude castings, crypto-english manuals, blown seals and gaskets, crummy ignitions.

I have spoken to Todd, and since I live about 2 hours away, I will just go visit him. I am one of those that would rather spend $450 for the best, rather than $250 for a kludge. It is not just buy American, it is CNC crankcase, first class machine work, innovative design, and quality.

My engine arrived safe and sound today, thanks Todd. Looks even better in person. Will post some pics when I get it installed in my Twist 1.50.

I'm installng Todd's motor in a Funtana 125. I'm about 3 hrs from being ready to fly. Just have to install batteries, electronic ignition kill, balance it and sanitize the wiring. Here's the link to the RCU Funtana build.

I heard last week that mine would be shipped out around the end of the week, estimated. There's a box at the P.O. waiting for me, I hope that's it. Couldn't get over there today..

Scooterpilot,
By the way, you can rotate the carb outlet to have it go straight back. It has to be done so carefully though. Be sure to grip it fairly well using straight grip type pliers that support the outlet. Use just enough pressure on the straight type pliers so that you can rotate it without slipping. There is a fine spline in there with an o ring to seal it. It can be rotated...just don't keep moving it back and forth a ton of times.
Important note: when you have it go straight back, please be sure to have it go slightly up so that the fuel tubing does not contact the carb screw.
I hope this helps some modelers out.

Nice job by the way Scooterpilot!
also...I will post photos tomorrow morning as to the best way to grip the fuel fitting to rotate it. Also, I will update the manual.
basically you need to grip it so that the barbs are held as well as the round barrel when it is rotated.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
Went flying with Todd yesterday, that was the intent anyway, when I got to the field found I left the Funtana's conopy home[X(][]Must have been a senior moment!Did an engine runup and Todd tuned the needle.Engine now turns 8400 w/Vess 18-6 muffler inserts on 40-1 Penz aircooled 55min sence new.Todd's been testing oils and other new items, very busy guy.He flew his Yak and we tached his engine and its turning 8700 w/muffler inserts and Vess 18-6 ,don't know what fuel mix he was using.Had a fun day topped off by being given an SAP hat. Many thanks Todd. Rich

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
Was well worth the wait. I'm in Oregon, not the land down under lol. Get a little nervous about packages this time of year thru the mail around here. Several Postal workers have been fired for stealing and not making the deliveries over the past few years. Unfortunately most of them have been driving the route I'm on. So far have been lucky and all my stuff has arrived but still hard to trust em. Sad thing is my mom and an uncle are both retired from the Post Office so that makes it even more irritating. Forecasts for the next week shows highs might make low 20's, and the lows near or below 0. Shop is unheated so it could be a bit before I can get it installed.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
Same here, our club has a "carrier landing" contest tomorrow. I am not optimistic it will be flying weather tomorrow, at least for me. I have never flown an RC plane in snow before.
Update: It is on, and I suppose that the flying part is no different, perhaps better lift and power due to the cold temps, but I have no clue about the take off and landing part. Any suggestions?
