It is not shipping yet. Looks really nice. I want one for a GC SU26 but will wait until I've heard some first hand experience.

Do you mean the Carl Goldberg SU 26 kit?

Yup. It has a ton of lead in the cowl presently with an OS120 pumped in the nose. I want to get the lead out.

You won't get much lead out with the SAP 180. It is very light - 39 ounces all up. If you need weight go with a zenoah 26 or look for a EI converted Zenoah G38. Even old they are like the Energizer bunny.

Appreciate the suggestion but I think a 38 cc motor would be too large. This is the old Carl Goldberg kit with a 72" wingspan.

I need to get the lead out of the cowl and under the motor mount in any case. Weight on the cowl makes it too fragile. This plane was built by a club member six or seven years ago and never flown. I really admired his construction except for the lead in the cowl. It's really a beautiful plane.

I have the same kit, NIB. One of the fiberglass companies makes a better cowl and belly pan for something like $70 for both. It may be Stan's Fibertech.

It is a nice model and is supposed to fly really well.
