C&H Ignitions #1
There are typically 3 factors involved with the decision to purchase from a particular manufacturer. Those are Price, Quality, and Customer Service. One can usually get 2 of the 3 but it’s rare that you get all 3.
I purchased a replacement ignition system for an Evolution engine from C&H that was about ½ the price from the OEM and I received it in a matter of days. I installed the new ignition system and couldn’t get it to work…I called C&H and Bill said he would send me another ignition system “to get me going”. I had that one in a matter of days too! Before swapping out the systems, I went back and double checked my installation on the 1st C&H system and miraculously, it seemed to work OK. 45 minutes of flying time confirmed it! Not sure where I went wrong but it clearly wasn’t the ignition system at all! So another call to C&H to let them know I was sending back ignition system #2 and offered to pay their shipping for system #2. Terry said “Just send it back and we’ll chalk up the shipping to “Customer Service”.
So my experience with C&H is that while you MAY find an ignition system cheaper…it’s not likely to be be higher in quality and you absolutely will not get better Customer Service! Best Price, Best Quality and Best Customer Service…yep, that’s C&H!

This is what I look for too. The cheapest doesn't work for me. I need the customer service and quality. And if you have a rare quality issue it's the customer service that helps you back in the air. These guys are great people to work with from my experience. I will pay more for the big three you mentioned. Because then I look like this at the field:

Same here. I called them one day due to a failed hall sensor on my Brison 6.4. Bill sent me a replacement right away. When I received it I found two sensors in my package and a bill for only one. Bill also helped me over the phone to sort out teh problem. Absolutely top notch customer service.

Providing an exceptional quality customer service is simply a big plus, but for me living so far for the source offering real first class quality products like CH does is top of the heap in my book.

I have done business with C&H and flown with them and never have I seen a cabby person in the mist. Bill and Terry are both stand up guys in my book. But ya know everyone has a bad day at times. There products are first rate and when I need anything thats IGN related I go to them.
Terry & Bill if your reading this come on down to Alpine this year, that is if the water is going to let us fly there?

Interesting, I always replace the CH ignitions with newer ones of newer design, typically from RcExcel (Todd Syssa).
You can have mine for free as I would likely never use it. It's a two cylinder one...

I too have always received the best service possible from CH. I can only echo the positive comments. One of the things I noticed was the caliber of the folks who made those comments. Most of them were from long time forum members who themselves have displayed a real knowledgable and helpful attitude towards others on the forums. And who's "Ralph"? (Just kiddin')
