Default Twin ignition trouble

I realy need some help here.

I am having trouble with a DZY 48 twin. It will only run on one cylinder. Change the plug wires and it will run on the other. Both plug wires make visible spark with either plug. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Bruce

Sounds like a bad ignition to me. I have a LS Pro 50 twin, which is basically the same engine, it runs great.

Soarrich

It was spark leaking through holes torn in the rubber boots. One side had a small hole and the other had a big one.

Some electrical tape as a temp. fix and it starts and runs fine.

Maybe clear silicone rubber would work to repair the boots??? Capt,n

Wow, that had to be hard to find. I had that on one of my singles, but I was never able to fix it. I'm going to cut the sparkplug wire way back then try there, mine jump from the core to the shielding which was about 1/2" away.

Dielectric silicone grease provides a means of dealing with this kind of stuff. A ring of grease at the top of the threaded hex prevents cap to base arcing.

Who makes or sells that?

Several different makers, none of which I can remember at the moment. You can pick it up at auto parts stores.

Great thanks. I have it as a spray, but I didn't see it as a grease.
