I would guess about a 16x8 to a 16x10, but haven't tried it.

cool. thats the one that i was planning on going with for flying this baby (i love xoar props... overpriced, but damn! - they look good haha)

problem...: Chief has that prop temporarily out of stock. but they do have a vess 19'' prop in the 19A and the 19B. anyone know if either of those compare to the xoar 19x8?

thanks
Heli
Try Abell Hobbies in Billing MT.He has all of the Xoar prop.In s tock or did a couple week ago.

The Vess 19B should compare with the Xoar 19 X 8

Vess 19B recomended to me by a dealer at Joe Nall. Stupifying power on a Sbach 30cc airframe. Did not tach it before it was broken on landing still looking for another one.

10% less diameter for the same pitch, IE: 17x8. This will provide close to the same load as the 2 blade but you can't get the same thrust from a 3 blade prop, they are less efficient.

So it seems a Xoar 19 X 8 is the best prop ?

Now it's up to 8150 rpm from 7600 rpm after running a 1/4 gallon on break in. MAS Classic.

Will post as it breaks in more.

I'm at 8300rpm now. 1/3 gallon of fuel threw it now.

It's getting to dark and cold so I stopped for today.

Note that the slowly declining temperature this evening may have increased the rpm's too because of the power increase with cooler outside temps.

Colder = more air = more oxygen = more power.

Ran my brothers today.
I only had a Xoar 20 X 8.
Ran 10 minutes, 10 minutes cool, ran 10 minutes, 10 minutes cool.
Third run, richen low end up 1/4 turn.
6550 rpm with the Xoar 20 X 8.
He is getting a Xoar 19 X 8 or a Xoar 19 3DA prop.

Ok that was just plane stupid. When breaking in your DLE 30 don't use a such a large prop like the 20x6 MAS that I did.
Use a wood prop like a 18x6 or so.
I think I overloaded the motor on break in with the diameter of prop and the weight of it??
I'm lucky to get 7800rpm swinging a Xoar 18x10!
I'm now running a Bisson Pitts muffler and I realize that this does decrease the power a wee bit but the plane no longer climbs verticaly.
I don't think I broke this motor in properly.

Nothing wrong with 7800 with a Xoar 18x10. Those are good numbers.

Hi, I just started my DLE 30 V2 1st time, mounted on a Sbach 300. The prop used is Xoar silver sword 18X8 (wooden). My data on the 1st tank is:

XOAR 18X8 (SILVER) 8030 RPM 6.5 KG THRUST

using an RcExl tacho connected to the ignition and a digital fish scale attached to the tail wheel.

cheers...

8400aprox with a Master airscrew WOOD 18x8 at sea level and getting 13.5lbs static thrust. Out of the 10 props that I have(all the same) there is around 500rpm difference in all of the with verry little difference in the static thrust.

Cheers

Does this engine beat the CRRC 26cc, will be on a 1.8m F3A plane.
Is this the real thing? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9675

It is the real thing but is out of stock and you may as well forget an warranty dealing with them. Shipping costs will eat you up.

It will beat the CRRC 26cc by a good margin.

Does these engines have a later option for a power boost by using a tuned pipe?
I forgot to mention, the F3A plane weighs in at 9lbs 5oz, would the DLE30 power it adequately?

What would be a better place to purchase the engine from, considering that i live in Europe?

Default RE: DLE-30 - Post your prop data here

I have read several of the DLE 30 Prop size postings and have a question concerning the 18 X 10 wood prop.. (not sure of brand)... My friend at the flying club is putting the DLE 30 with a 18 X 10 wood prop on his 14 pound Texan which would be around 16 pound + with engine ...Is this too much or too little prop on the DLE 30 for that heavy of a warbird? Thanks...
