Funny you say that, the plane I did my test on a segull 120 yak I ran the dle 30 with 19x8 prop revs 7450, I have now moved engine to a katana120
and have put my OS160 in the yak with 18x6 and 8550 revs, diffrents i found the dle300 had more low grunt and pull like no tomorrow with the yak
the os160 I would say performed 20% less IMO. now that is just my test other folks would find it diffrent i guess.
So my DLE30 runs a JXF 19x8 at 7450 and getting better each run.

I could use the prop calculator for that but I'm not sure how it compares to real world data. According to the calculator the Mej 18x8 prop at 8500 rpms should do 18lbs of static thrust. That would be tasty on my 12 pound bird. I am sure it would be different airframe to airframe. For example if you have a Extra 260 with a big mouth of a cowl intake. Wouldn't that affect the thrust? We can throw the thrust numbers in if guys list it.

All numbers with MenzS wood prop, well balanced and drilled:
18x8 8,350 rpm
19x8 7,330 rpm
20x6 7,230 rpm
Using RCEXL LCD mini tachometer attached to the ignition sensor.

cliff600 Zoar 18 X 10 7775
Plane flew really fast, but would not 3D well. I just crashed it yesterday, yip, sad, but I did not really like the plane. I want to get a Yak or 260 and put a 19 X 8 on it.

based on the figures above, this engine compares to the os 160fx..... But id still take the DL30 over any comparable glow engine

I'm pretty close to sea level and don't think my 1.60 could make those numbers. Impressive.

Hey all,
I am looking at getting one of these to replace a rather week 22cc engine I have on an Edge, what would be great is if you could include in your readings if these are on the stock muffler.
Thanks

Xoar 20x6....anybody have the RPM????? Thanks Capt,n P.S. I think that will be a good prop for hover, climbout & slower landings.

you might want to know my spe43 hit same rpm in respect to those props
what happens to ' no replacement for displacement' afterall they are only lawnmover motors [
