Default NGK CM-6

For those that use this plug, they can be had for less than $2 EA. online.
Google the part #98052-56471 , it's a Honda part#, they go in a small generator (300 series).
My local Honda dealer has them for about $4, NAPA for about $8.

Just for the record, these plugs fit the threads in the DL/DLE WAY better than the stock ones! (Flame suit on, Jody)

What is the issue with the stock spark plug for a DL engine? Is it not sized correctly for the threads in the head? I've tried both the stock spark plug and a CM-6 in my DL50 and performance seems the same and I haven't noticed any fit issues with the stock plug.

i found a local hawthorne/cat dealership with a parts department that will gladly bring them in for me for $2.99...seems like cm-6s used for r/c gassers are 2-3 times more expensive than those sold by a caterpillar tractor dealer for industrial uses...lol...ken

No flame from me, this is old news. Though I do have several stock DL plugs that have been running for multiple years with no problem whatsoever, this past summer I did start seeing first hand some of what I've read about the stock plugs. It seems if the stock plug works for more than a few tanks it works and lasts no different than a CM-6. In my experience, if they are bad they go out very quick. I do use and sell CM-6 plugs as replacements for the originals. Several threads on the price and availability of the NGK CM-6 plugs have come and gone over the last couple of years.
