Default G26 vs G26EI

Is there anything that seperates the G26EI over the G26? Is the extra $50 worth it to get the EI?

Thanks,

Frank

Muroc1,

You wont gain any power by going with the EI. The EI will make it easier to start and maybe a little better idle. The G26 Mag is a better choice if your building a warbird as you'll need the extra weight up front. If your building a sport type plane or one for 3D then you would want the lighter weight EI engine. Zenoah has proven themselfs over the years. Both are good engines.

Thanks for the feedback. I like easier starting and better idling. Guess I'll go with the EI version.

Frank

I have the EI for the simple reasons stated above. Ease of starting was the selling point for me

And just in case that power hungry Zenoah ignition ever goes south on you just opt for an RC exl ignition as a replacement from CH Ignitions or RC ignitions, as either are straight forward plug and play.

The std G-26 will start very easily with a normal glow starter. I don't see any difference in the way it idles. Both are real gems compared to the other engines in that displacement. You can't go wrong with either.
