Awesome. Mine is going on an Extra 330 at 11.5 to 12 lbs with a 20A, 74 inch wing span. Just waiting for the 35 to arrive. Replacing a 28cc.

From full horizontal speed to straight up... it climbs higher than I go for spins, hammerheads or vertical rolls. The combo fits my needs on this plane.

I have run the engine twice and flown once.... My friend and previous owner hand started and flew it 8 times for less that one hour total..... I am afraid that the pulse hole is stopped up as everything else seems to be working....

Crankcase pulse to the carb is of course critical but a problem there can be either way. If you had it running and it suddenly now will not pump... then suspect also a leak. I had a carb bolt come out causing causing the engine to die. When picking up the plane, I heard the bolt rattling within and knew what was up. In my case the carb sat in a hole in the firewall so the bolt was not lost. Did you check for a missing bolt?

Please explain the problems you are having with it, Maybe it is not the carb and something else. Are you running the stock ignition? How is your instillation ? A picture here showing instillation can speak a 1000 words. Maybe the pulse hole is blocked on the cover and not the block. Or the diaphragm is dried out.

All of your suggestions have been checked out by several pilots and mechanics of weed eater type engines with walbro.... Engine is flooding and gas comes out of the carburetor at the choke.... have corrected and adjusted several suggestions and am now waiting to run the engine later in the week.... It is difficult to get the gas to flow by rocking the prop back and forth which normally works. -.pulling the gas from the tank... have installed a new diaphragm... so we will wait and see....

Thanks, Richard

By diaphragm do you mean the atmospheric metering circuit or the pump? If the engine is flooding, the pump obviously works so it is not a blocked impulse port or pump issue. That leaves the likely culprit the atmospheric diaphragm. If you replaced it with a new, then the two most likely issues are that the gasket was put on the wrong side of the diaphragm or the diaphragm was put on reversed.

You can google and get an exploded view of the carb and check for proper installation. A gasket is needed between the metering diaphragm and the carb, otherwise, the tip of the diaphragm will hold the needle open and flood the engine. Also, the center tip of the diaphragm that contacts the rocker only works properly if the diaphragm has the correct side facing the rocker arm, otherwise it can flood the engine as the rivet side extends further than the correct tip side.

Hope this helps.
