STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
Guys, do a search. It is REAL easy and it works great.
This topic has been KILLED every week for YEARS. USE the SEARCH OPTION! It's called search for a reason. Search is really good for you try it. Search, it's the new search. One search a day keeps the oil monsters away. When contemplating the universe, Newton didn't ask, he searched. |

RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
So I was wondering...
I have a DA 50 that is brand new. What oil ratio should I use for break in? Then, what should I use after break in. Then, what should I use when it has about 1000 hours on it?:D Sure, the same threads get old but let's face it, RCU's search bar sucks. So if you don't want to read yet another thread about oil ratios, do what I do: go to the next thread. Works every time. Brian |
RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
Sounds like you have the same issue I have with chocolate. I see it in the fridge, I know I shouldnt eat it, but I cant help myself, so I eat it.
Dam I hate chocolate:eek: |

i'm still wondering why there isn't a thread on mixing oil/gas by weight.........that one doesn't come up.
i thought this was a free forum though. should we post a topic about what's OK to post a topic about?.... |

RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
I tried to find a thread that actually answers the question definitively. Couldn't find one though
Does anyone have the answer - the definitive answer on which oil and how much to use? Hey Whistlingdeath and Eagleburger - I have the same issues as you guys - I see new threads asking the questions and thingk "Oh no - not another one" - but i look anyway. Luckily I can't eat chocolate :D Can we have a thread on how to make the search work well please? I would love to see it. I can't find that "fuzzy" option on it anywhere I look.:D Oh well - having said that - I am going out to fly my planes now with good synthetic oil mixed at bad oil ratios - it works for me. Can't tellyou which gas I use - it might start an argument:D |
RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
ORIGINAL: summerwind i'm still wondering why there isn't a thread on mixing oil/gas by weight.........that one doesn't come up. They are the only ones that can't read the label on a bottle or look at the graduation lines on a mixing cup. I work with a bunch that used to mix gas and oil by weight. After a couple years pulling my hair our everytime they hauled out the scale the problem resolved itself when the battey died and nobody had a spare. They were a long ways from anywhere and all they had left was reading the lable on the oil bottle and estimating the amount of gas in the can right after putting 5 gallons in it at the gas station...... But hey, if that what fluffs your skirt, feel free. I sure as heck won't try and stop anyone from going that route. As for RCU having a crappy search engine...I agree. However. RCU IS NOT the Universe where RC is concerned. There just happen to be a couple of other forums devoted to giant scale. Where gas engines are the norm rather than something new. In one of them there is enough experience accumulated with the modeling population where the need for an oil and ratio question isn't needed. I spend a lot of time there these days. |
RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
Instead of "RC" universe it should be "ARF" universe.

RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
Wouldn't it be easier to found out oil ratios and breakin procedures by reading the Freakin' manaul?? If you dont have the book then do a search!!!

RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
Don't rag on the search engine, you will get knock off RCU.:D
if you don't like oil threads don't read them, just pass over that beaten horse. |
RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
ROTFLMAO Actually I find the search engine works fairly well - use simple terms that are unique and specify subject only. I usually use the search this forum only at the bottom of the page. For oil ratios try "oil ratio" in quotes. Be prepared it really has been beaten to death.

Is Newton responsible for me crashing all the time? RE: STOP with the oil ratio threads, please.
This is creditied to AUSSIESTEVE from yet another oil ratio thread here on RCU:
ORIGINAL: aussiesteve I couldn't vote - there is no ''none of the above'' Scientific tests show that the oil I use should be run at EXACTLY 44.5:1 w/v I need to also use a mixture of 2 oils at 36:48 v/v ratio then add 1.85% Castor to that by weight. Then I mix that with a combination of 36:24:36 Coleman gas, Premium Gas and Avgas 100LL After that - I turn around on the spot 3 times, try to stand on one leg (left leg for odd numbered days and right leg for even numbered days), and mix it with a flame torch Then I go and fly electrics - but not LiPo powered - that is a different thread Regards, Richard |
