Engine ID

1 Attachment(s)
I recently aquired this engine in a trade and the gentleman told me it was a 3.2 brison. he also gave me a 24-10 prop which he sais was being used for it. Even though he said he had never ran it, he had seen it run and fly. Seemd like a straight up guy so it turned the engine thru and loaded it up and came home. I am new to these gas engines but when I started looking at the brison website, a 22-10 is way too much prop for the 3.2. Also tis engine weighs in at 5.25 lbs. the next size up is a 4.2, and can handle a prop that size the specs claim it only weighs 4.75lbs. I figured some of the gurus here on RCU might be able to look and see which engine this is. Thanks in advance

The cylinder markings for a Brison 3.2 are 44ZN18W4 in the front and MAHLE on the back. The first two numbers are the bore of the cylinder in millimeters, I think. Your missing a throttle bellcrank. A 3.2 weighs 3.25 pounds. Dan.

49zn2 is the casting mark on this engine. i did notice that the throttle bellcrank is missing, however the carb arm is set up slightly different than a standard brison. If i find out this engine is usable on my extra 300, i was going to redo the linkage while i was checking the timing.

The 49 gave that away, but the maker is a little in question. I'm going to go wuth A&M due to the sensor ring and timing linkage. Never saw any of Gary's engines set up like that.

Thanks guys, looks like its going to be a little big for a 1/4 extra. What is an engine like this worth with a CH ignition box.

To somone that knows them and if in good shape, about $350.00-$400.00. If it's a true Brison add $100.00. If it's the old A&M with the crappy crank, subtract $100.00. Compression and bearing play will establish the condition. No broken cylinder fins of course.
