BME 95 cc engine

I have a BME 95 cc engine that need the reeds replaced. Does anyone know where I can get a set? Are there other reed sets that will work in this engine. It is good engine and I hate to put it on the shelf... Thanks

Have you considered calling BME? That would be the first thing I would do if it were mine.

New owners about 3 years ago, and definately still in business. Worst come to worst you could probaly adapt the reeds from the cage of a DA 100, but withou seeing your reeds I couldn't guarantee that. In that size engine there has been a lot of parts commonality. The reeds from a BME 102, 105, and 110 may also fit.

Update: Waiting for reply back from BME. I called and spoke to Tom and also sent him pictures of my engine.

You may want to reconsider the throttle linkage

That is the rod I use for the choke. It hangs out the bottom of the cowl on my hanger 9 Sukhoi. No issues with it. Problem is the reed is broke

It was the snap-on ball link I spotted there and the z-bend metal rod.
It's hard to see from the photo if it attaches to the throttle butterfly or the choke.
Either way, there are better ways

No offense meant

That Z bend will eventually wear out the hole in the choke lever due to vibration and differenece in materials you have there. Use a more positive connection like a swivel or ball link. Also, secure the end end you are pulling on. You can't leave it rattling around. Dan.

No offence taken. You are right there are better ways. I will change it if I can locate new reeds and get it back running.
Always open to suggestions

Thanks

Talked to TOM at BME.....No reeds yet..
I am still looking for somthing that will work....carbon fiber maybe???

Don't do that unless you have a few sets for later replacement. Carbon reeds work great in applications that have a reed shock stop, but not over direct metal contact. Take a look at the reeds in a DA 100 or DLE 111 and see if they can be adapted to fit your cage. Might even compare to a 3w 106. Pop the reeds out of one cage and insert into the other.

Finally got 2 reeds from Tom at BME. Engine is running. Still looking for back up material to make my own.
