I was exagerating (trying to get a rise out of ya)but I will be bringing a load down this Saturday. My son will probably be all the help I need but your welcome to come by and check me out. Sorry butthe wife has the supervisor position covered.

They usually do. You left out the grand piano... The event would get me out of putting a certain Super Extra together for a guy that is always in too much of a hurry, and has a perverted need to question everything I do.

That leads me to my question for help T.O.M.
Did you ever end up building that 342 powered 50%'er and was the aditional engine size worth it?

I am about to pull the trigger on either a 275 or a 342 for another of the same airframe and trying to decide if those extra cubes create any major difficulties. Once over 55 lbs, I have to deal with all sorts of paperwork here anyway so if the build is still simple and the performance rocks, I will go for the bigger one, If not worth it, I wil go for the one the plane was designed around.

Wish I could come for the 7.62 "play time" too? One of my other sports was Full bore Target (haven't done it for a while though) I still have my Gilkes Ross - that sport and the Horse Stud seem to have gone hand in hand a lot recently.

Same guy with the Super Extra has the 50% and 342. Don't go with the 342. There are considerable exhaust design issues with fitting the engine. You cannot, make that absolutely cannot, rotate the cylinders to reposition the carb and have the exhaust ports on the other side. The initiation of the boost ports are part of the case casting and rotating the heads cuts the heads off from the boost ports. The carb and intake manifold are massive, and although eliminating the intake manifold is possible using a 3w mounting plate, the carb still projects a considerable distance from the engine. Something is going to stick out that you don't want to stick out, somewhere. If I had it to do over I would wait for the MVVS. If you speak with Bill he'll tell you the plane was designed around the 275, and the later planes are lighter than the first release.

I did some of the horse stuff when the kids were still home. Darn things were accidents looking for a place to happen. Gave up on studding since their legs were so long and they ran too fast:)

Thanks for that. I knew it looked too easy on paper to be true. 275 or the "320" it is then (I hope the 320 comes available soon).

I learnt a long time back not to have "Envy" issues. Sharing the place with 3 Stallions sure puts one in his place when it comes to such things. Dart guns help with the "Studding duties" - stops a lot of bruising too :D

Nice piece (I shoulda picked up on the "R")- We aren't allowed anything Semi auto or even pump action here. It is either Bolt or single shot only - ever since some nutter gave us the world record for a mass shooting. We gotta jump through hoops to (legally) get firearms of any sort now - the crims seem to have no problems getting them though.

Same cartridge load fits in a Mosin Nagant, single action bolt and loading through a 5 round stripper clip. The Mosin can shoot heavier loads. Awsome muzzle velocity with the Nagant. Our gov is trying to take ours too. Little by little.

Should have thought of the tranqs....

Yeah, every time somebody gets shot, it is more "ammo" for the "take their guns away" movements in the USA. They'll manage to do it some day I imagine.

They should learn from Mexico. Guns are illegal here, but guess who has PLENTY of them....

How's that saying go? When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns? Seems that form has followed function in Mexico, Australia, Canada, England, and others that took them away from the population.

But it gives the governments a "warm and fuzzy feeling" to think that the citizens don't have guns....
