NAME THIS ENGINE!
 

I bought this engine about 6 years ago and I can't remember what it is. I think I remember the seller telling me it was a Quadra 50 but I'm not sure. Can anyone out there shed any light on my delima? Please take a look. The Serial # on the head is 372280 if that helps any. No other discernable marks on the engine.

Thanks Antique. I thought that's what it was but was confused by the carb being on the opposite side from pictures of other Q50's. However, after doing some more digging and reading, I found out that the cylinder was reversible on that engine and, after examining mine more closely, saw that one of the coil-mount lugs on one side of the engine was broken off.......probably the result of a crash and probably the reason the cylinder on mine is rotated 180 deg. This engine has coil-mount lugs on both sides of the engine and almost certainly the reason it had been rotated.

But it is an old timer. It is much older than 6 yrs. More like 12-15 yrs.

abt 6 years ago they redesined the cylinder etc.

What fuel/oil ratio should I run in that engine?

32:1 Pennzoil or 40:1 Stihl Ultra

Be sure the piston is rotated, the intake side has about 1/8 cut off the skirt...Only redesign was a 52cc piston and cylinder, all else is the same....
