Spring Starter and Zenoah G-45 Setup?

Well, Here I go again! I've got a Zenoah G-45 and a Bennett spring starter for it. How do I set up the spring starter? Where do I position it and then where do I position the prop?

Happy Flying!

RE: Spring Starter and Zenoah G-45 Setup?

Fitting the recoil spring starter is pretty straightforward. The body of the starter assembly bolts on to the rear taper of the crank, and the spring eye section is held in place with the supplied bolt on the rear of the crankcase, and can only work in one position. Just ensure that the locking nut on the end of the crank is tightened properly, otherwise the starter will slip when the spring is wound up by the prop when attempting to start the engine. I find that just setting the prop horizontal works well for me, and a half a turn of the prop/spring generates sufficient mag speed to get your engine going.
