DA Question
This is kind of a silly question. I just received a DA-50 from Chief Aircraft and it did not come in a manufacture's box. It was wrapped in a plastic bag inside a normal shipping box. Is that normal?
Thanks, Tony |
RE: DA Question
Tony, I would send an email to DA and ask them. If the engine has a serial number, include it. This sounds suspicious. Dan.

RE: DA Question
It is normal.
DA Dealers usually buy in bulk from DA where many engines are sent in one carton (properly wrapped and packed). A common way for them to be sent from the dealer is wrapped in bubble wrap in a normal shipping carton. However for peace of mind, Dans suggestion is a good one. |
RE: DA Question
That is completely normal. The last DA engine I bought was a 100L directly from Desert Aircraft. They shipped it in a generic white box and it was just plastic wrapped on the inside. No name brand manufacturers packaging at all.

RE: DA Question
Ok, thanks guys. I called Chief and they said they never ship DA engines in a manufacturers box. Just wanted to check.
Thanks again! Tony |
RE: DA Question
New or repaired, they have always come to me wrapped in plastic and or bubble wrap in a plain box.

RE: DA Question
With a quality product and an impeccable reputation, there is no need to waste money on pretty boxes.

RE: DA Question
Good point K-Bob! This is my first DA so I was just a little surprised but super happy with the engine so far.
