BME Propellers

Of interest to many, BME now has it's own line of wooden propellers for sale. Sizes range up to 32" in diameter, and are a TRUE size, not the "reduced size" metric equivalents of many European propeller makers. So, you want a 28" prop. . you GET a 28" prop!!

The first run of props was 800 units, and is expected to sell out quickly. The props are similar to the Menz-S series of propellers, but as mentioned above, are a TRUE diameter, NOT a 27.2" prop called a 28" prop.

Please visit the BME website at www.BMEengine.com for further information.

Hey Kris 2 questions
1= have you flown any of the props yet?
2= how are these new props comparing performance wise to the menz or 3W props?

RE: BME Propellers

I have not flown one of these props yet. I seldom use wood props, but a lot of guys prefer them. To each their own. :)

As for characteristics of the prop, figure on a cross between a menz 26 and 27" prop for the BME 26", since the diameter is between those two props at a true 26" size, and comparable characteristics among the prop sizes.

I am flying the 21-10 on a bme 50 and I have not tached it but it pulls the 17 lb airframe very well. I bought a 24-8 and havent used it yet. Very nice prop, painted tips, full gloss finish. Looks very much like the menz. Both were almost perfectly balanced

What I don't understand is why the BME props don't fit BME engines without drilling....strange.

from their site -"... come with a 10mm pilot hole to fit DA, 3W and ZDZ engines."

MARKETING 101 - you catch more fish with a bigger net.

A smart idea would be for them to offer their props custom drilled to match the modeler's specific engine. Charge an extra buck per prop for the service. Dunno why no one does this.

Which of the brand fanatics is going to put a BME prop on their DA, 3W or ZDZ?
Maybe they should label the props "ACME".:)

Has anyone used this propeller and how does their 20x8 propeller compare to an APC 20x8 propeller? (RPM & Thrust)

It will be interesting to see how they compare to similar sized NX and Xoar props.
