G38 or US 41?

I have both of these engines laying around, and was wondering, which is more powerful. I know that neither is a powerhouse, but, still, which has the edge? I'm wondering because I currently have a pair of G38s on planes, and was wondering whether it would be wise to replace them with the 41s. I'm leaning towards keeping the G38s because of reliability and parts availability...hmmm, I think maybe I answered my own question;)

Yep, that's what I'll do.....but, still, just so I'll know, which has more punch?

Again, I believe I have found the answer...6 of one and a half dozen of the other.:D

I have had a number of both. On the same model you would be very hard pressed to ever tell the difference. Brian

Its hard to beat a well broken in G38! Except for weight, if that matters.

I too think both engines are close in output but I would stick with the Zenoah's again unless the others fit better.

Well the question was power between the two. As for preference I too favor Zenoah engines on all accounts!! :D. Brian

I don't have actualy numbers but I would venture the 38's would have a very slight edge.

Plus they are already mounted on the planes!

From what I remember (it been a while ) the 41 I had turned the same prop at the same rpm (within 100 or so of each other ) as my G38 's . 18x8 being the optimum prop for either engine.
In my opinion it wouldn't be worth the effort to change them out.
