Thanks jwrich! Mike from Mile High got back to me too and your two measurements are within 1/4 of each other and will allow me to check fit. Now all I have to do is dig out the SkyShark P40 cowl and check. Looks like it should fit... Mike seems to be a standup guy going by your comments, so Mile High is who I'll do business with!

Just picked one of these for my EME 55. Question, it comes with 4 stand offs. I'm assuming for different motors? Haven't had a chance to really play with it yet.
|
OK, I'm back to considering putting one of these on my TF P47, cool factor is just to tempting. Has anyone put a wattmeter in line with the starter to get the actual amp draw when it's being operated? I'd be interested in knowing that.

Mine pulls 35 Amps. The earlier version pulled about 19 amps. the motor was updated to be able to start the 60cc engine and the draw went way up. I use a brushed ESC.

Mike,
How on earth did you get the first nut off? I've been wrenching away and can't get it off. I used a wrench like you did on the prop bolts and bent them all..... |
Hi guys,
I got an EME 30-35 auto start kit and this thread will surely help me with the assembly. One question though: I saw in the attached .pdf that there are two keys, the original and the so-called new one? Where did you get the new one? Did it come with the starter kit? Thank you, Giacomo |
On the 30-35 starter kit you the same key that is on the engine. I put a starter on my DLE-30, works fine

For those inquiring about the weight of the system, the starter, battery (3S 1700 mAh), and relay added 1.1lbs to the nose of my ESM Fw-190. That allowed me to remove all of my ballast so it was a net weight gain of about 1 oz in the nose.
If you don't want to pay $30 for that controller, it's easy to rig up a system using a switch and an SPDT relay that will cost you all of $5. That's what I did since when I bought mine they had not release the controller yet. Cheers to the OP for the nice write up! |
What gauge of wire are you guys using in the starter?
|
Do you need a gear pully to remove the prop hub and what size deep socket is needed to removed the prop shaft?
