JC EVO 60cc - engine mount

1 Attachment(s)
guys need some help plese.

i need to put my new JC60 on a fiberglass mold firewal
BUT
the fire wall surface is too small for the JC60 standoff spread, hence , not enough contact surface for the standoffs and blind nuts at the back!!

what to do?

as is, with the original stanoffs, the distance for the spineer plate Vs cowl is great 1-2 mm gap

if i cut the TOP of the fiberglass surface and epoxy glue a new wider 6mm wood plate, would it hold?
should i reinforce the side walls of the fiberglass to the wood with a 90 dgree corner and bolts?
this is a racer scale plane, i dont wont to add too much weight on it.

the firewall is made from 2 parts: the fibrglas mold where the standoffs are mounted on , then this is mounted on the fusealge firewall of the model.

see the tread and some pics..

thx for the help

Mount a aluminum plate to the stand offs and then mount the plate to the airframe.

You will probably have to get shorter stand offs and bore a hole in the plate for the carb.

Duplicate what you have with 3/8 inch aircraft plywood. Enlarge the mounting surface to meet your needs. Use hardwood triangular stock to reinforce the joints. Use a good epoxy like T-88 to secure it all. Dan.
