Engine Break in

I am replacing the Cylinder, Piston and Ring on my CRRC GF26. I presume the engine needs a break in period after doing this. The CRRC GF26 manual only seems to describe the break in procedure as being using a higher oil to fuel ratio for 2 to 3 hrs run time.It does not state if the oil should be straight or synthetic Shouldn't a straight oil be used for the break in? I have a dle20 also and the break in procedure here calls for 3 to 5 gallons running on straight oil before switching to synthetic.

Yes Sir, regular oil for break-in. I usually run one gallon and go fly. The original mfg's rings take for ever to actually break-in fully, if ever. Now Bowman rings break-in real quick.
