Need Help Identifying This Engine
4 Attachment(s)
I need help Identifying the engine in an airplane I bought. It is a Gasoline powered engine, has an RCS 1000 rc showcase ignition module. It is a side exhaust model engine. The Propeller that was attached was 18x8. There is a number cast into the crank case on one side, it appears to be either an 80 or 30, but the casting is rough. The airplane that it is installed on is the Great Planes SU-31 3D Arf GPMA1412. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Steve |
Thank you for the quick reply, RC Showcase f 180 SE 30cc.

It is a RCS 30cc or 1.80 cubic inch displacement gasoline engine.
They called the company RC Showcase. I think that they made the engines in Hungary and they went out of business circa 2009. Some of the employees went to work for ZDZ afterwards. I am not sure if ZDZ bought up the leftovers or not. of course ZDZ could have been the company making the engines for RCS too. |

It is a MOKI but it is manufactured in Germany (Airworld Modellbau). There is no relation to the Hungarian MOKI brand.
http://www.airworld.online.de/Englisch/Index.htm These are high quality - high performance engines and you will get a lot of reliable use from it. The engines can be switched to either side or rear exhaust by changing the piston and rotating the cylinder through 90° Should you ever need to replace the ignition this is the colour code White = Red (positive) Brown = Black (negative) Green = White (signal) I have included a photo of one of mine…….it is a 45cc rear induction (disc valve) rear exhaust. Also you can see how your ignition looked like before it was "relabled" http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1982493http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1982494http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1982495 They have a generic user manual that I have attached as well FYI mike |
