Yep. Ryobi 31cc. I think I have backplates if you need one. They have a reed valve in them, and yes, that's where the carb mounts too.

Make a precise measurement of the crankcase inner diameter and let me know. There are two different backplates for them, one slightly bigger in diameter of the portion that goes into the crankcase. From the photos, I believe yours is the bigger diameter crankcase and backplate.

Bought one a few years ago with the intention of converting but once I saw the pressed sheet steel connecting rod; put it back together and sold it as a leaf blower.

They are actually a pretty good engine if you limit the rpm to 7500 with the correct prop on them. It's a nice conversion engine for narrow cowl airplanes like Tiger Moth biplanes and Mustangs. I have one in a big Tiger Moth and it works great.
