NGH GT25 and OS#5 glow plug

I was having trouble with the spark plug cap coming loss during flights so I decided to try the new OS#5 gas glow plug. I had to adjust the carb some but it started right up and ran great. I am getting 7800 RPM with a XOAR 17x6 prop and I have a good 2000 RPM idle. If I try to drop the idle any lower than 2000 RPM the engine runs for a few seconds then quits so I will keep it at 2000RPM. The Tiger 120 I have the NGH 26GT installed on flys great. I got 6 flight in on it today with no dead stick at all. I think I'll keep the OS#5 gas glow plug in it:D

If you are having the same issues I had with the spark plug cap this is a easy fix.:o:)

My NGH 25 ran just fine too on the gas glow plug but my DLE 30 will not idle below 3000RPM on it

I hope to get a small video done on this NGH GT25 with the OS#5 gas glow plug.:o

Glad to read this.
The next project is a Rascal 110 , which requires cutting up the fuselage to internally mount the ignition.
Having a glowplug w/ a gas really simplifies the power system. Im thinking a glow plug igniter wired for low throttle may control lower idle rpm's and these are still easier to mount than an ignition box with less interference to RX. Ive got the plane, time to order the engine and GG plugs!

gives this doesn't really have a good think

The plug is a 1/4x32 size, So if the engine you get uses a CM-6 you will need an adapter. You can get this from Valley View.
Let us know how you make out.
My NGH26 cut out at full throttle twice. I have no explanation for that.

What engine are you planning on using for the Rascal 110? I just got another 10 flights in on the NGH 25GT with no dead sticks. The idle at 2000rpm with a Xoar 17x6 prop is just right for my Tiger 120. If weather holds this weekend I hope to get some video of the engine running with the OS#5 gas glow plug

Am planning on the NGH 25 on the Rascal 110. An engine with a front carb and side exhaust seem to fit the Rascal nose better than a rear carb, rear exhaust. Many use Xenoah 26EI on their Rascals, I just like the idea of the NGH 25 on GG plug for simplicity. 7800 rpm on a 17x6 should fly the plane.

Will post results when its done , but all of a sudden the rc planes are B priority compared to work & house.

The muffler that comes with the NGH GT25 is junk. I have gone threw 3 on them. I would spend a little extra and get the one piece muffler our even the Pitts muffler. Thanks work a lot better on this engine. Just my 2 cents

I have been running an NGH 17cc on a Tiger 60. Think the OS #5 would work on that engine? Haven't seen any threads about that engine but seems worth a try. The engine works well on the electronic ignition...but it would be great to eliminate all of the ignition parts!

I tried it on a 15. It started and ran the same as with ignition but I didn't pursue it as the engine has issues. Give it a try. They only cost $15.They are cheaper than the 1/4x32 ignition plug

dirtybird...did you use just pump gas with 2 cycle oil? Anything else special?
Thanks

Yes I believe the OS#5 gas glow plug will work great on the NGH GT17. I am planning on trying it on my NGH GT17.

Just put another dozen flights on this NGH GT25 with the OS#5 glow plug. I have not had an issue with it. I am running a 32to1 synthic blend mixture and it runs great. I hope to get some pics and video this weekend if the weather holds. My have rain SATURDAY:mad:
