Parts for BME?
Are they still around? I tried to contact them through the website about parts, but no response. Has anyone dealt with them recently?
|
BME closed a good while back. They used mostly Echo parts on/in their engines, but prepare yourself. The prices of Echo parts to the public are nuts!!
What do you need? Bearings and seals are best bought from Boca Bearings. Then there are aftermarket piston ring suppliers. Ignitions are best, and cheaply served with CH Ignition, RCEXL, or RCAP parts. I have a few used parts for pistons, cylinders and cranks. (Very few.) AV8TOR |
AV8TOR,
Thanks for the Info. I just need a kits for the Zama Carbs on my BME 90's. Just trying to get them back in service. To look at the BME website, you wouldn't know anything was amiss. |
You can try Amazon. I found some cheaper kits for Zama carb kits but I lost the link. Www.jackssmallengines.com should have them.

I have one of those Super Tiger .90 engines that Keith at BME coverted for me when we were collaborating on another possible project shortly before they closed. I like it a lot. I also got some custom crankcases from him to make twin cylinder 48/50 cc engines out of two Echo 24/25 cc engines. Those are really cool! I made several for other people and have two of my own. Bummer, but the crankcases are no longer available.
Just for your info, Ken at lambertsrc.com does various size Super Tiger conversions and has parts. AV8TOR |
AV8TOR,
Thanks again, I had forgotten about Lambertsrc. Sounds like you could have some fun projects in your future. |
Oh yeah. Way more projects than I have time for, and more yet that are just ideas in the back of my mind. Those twins I built are so neat. They run great, and have virtually no vibration. I have been flying one of mine for years. I built myself another one and did all my hop up mods to it. It runs super but hasn't flown yet. It is stored until I decide what to put it on... That makes about 10 or so RTF engines I have waiting for flight service, and then a whole bunch I have set back for working on "someday", many of them quite interesting. I have one heavily modified Zenoah clone engine I built that only weighs 2 lbs. ready to fly and turns a 16 x 8 prop at 10,200 rpms, on a muffler; no tuned pipe!!
