US 41 and CD Ignition

Can any tell me if they have converted their US 41 to use CD Ignition (CH Electronics) and if so was it worth the expense?

I am concidering doing this for easier starts, I am going to put this engine in a Byron CAP 21.

I welcome any advise or opinions.

Thanks

Sure was worth it. Otherwise I had a quiet collection of parts that resembled an engine. My 41's magneto coil broke off and the CH conversion was a good fix for an otherwise very young engine.

Hand starting is easy and reliable if not always on the first flip. Weight loss is nice, almost 10 ozs, unfortunately my bird didn't need it.

Have fun. Those guys at CH are a nice bunch to deal with.

Thanks BeePee,

I am sure I will enjoy the easy starting, did you have CH do the work?

I am sending them my engine and want them to do as much as they can to strip off weight.

No, I did it myself. Not difficult at all. It helps to have a small flywheel puller to get it off. Otherwise, most time is spent setting the timing.
