RE: Taurus engine

OK ALL YOU GUYS,,,,,,I flew my GP X-300 today with the taurus 52 and a new sensor on the ignition. The engine started on the first flip(with the choke closed) and on the second flip(with the choke open). NO PROBLEMS AT ALL....Everything worked liked it was supposed to work. I must say that Bill at Taurus is just about the best person to work with that I had met. Now I must add Bill and Terry at CH Electronics. Without Bill and Terry at CH testing and putting my ignition in a plane and flying it, I would still be trying to figure out the problem. I guess that the SENSOR can work intermitten.....NOT just either work or not work.....Now I have purchased a testor which is sold by CH and will be able to check out the ignition and other problems should they arise. I really appreciate all the comment you guys provided and let me say that if you supect a problem with the ignition, give Bill or Terry a call or send in the ignition for a test. THEY will fix and get it back to you in a hurry.

Well guys, you learn something new every now and then... Thanks for the update.

It's refreshing to here from a happy customer.

Is that Extra wild with the TS-52 or not? This is an excellent combination, there are several locally.:D

If you mean the idle and top end....they are as follows.....idle....1900 rpm.....high end....6900 rpm...this is with a 22X20 Zinger pro wood prop. This is without a doubt one of the best engines avaiable.

The wing span is 78 in. with a wing area of 1157 sq. in....wing loading 31 oz/sq.ft. all up weight is 15.2 lbs. Fuse length is 72.5. I have a TME smoke system which works great. This is a great combo with unlimited vertical, very stable on slow flight.

Hope this helps.

Ken
