RE: BME 44 Idle
I stand corrected on that. It is five gallons switch to synthetic oil. sorry P.

RE: BME 44 Idle
Hi,
Is that thing I wrote about the battery OK? I mean, I am kind of frustrated and I think I just hope is something as simple as I wrote before, but I really dont know whats going on. What do you guys think? What seems to be the problem?. Make a guess, you sure know more than me, or at least, tell me how it sounds (what I wrote). Thank. you |
RE: BME 44 Idle
I don't know what to tell you. Try moving the battery and make sure the capacity is up also.
I only use 1650 4.8v NIMH batteries for ignition and have never had a problem with enough supply. |
RE: BME 44 Idle
You mentioned earlier that you set the spark plug gap for maximum. The manual says the maximum gap can cause missing at high throttle. Try setting the gap back to .022 and see if that clears up the eratic high end performance.

RE: BME 44 Idle
I will try both things. I moved the battery already behind the firewall (cooler place) and I am going to close the gap, but it works as it is for the first two flights ,but I will try anyway. Thank you.

RE: BME 44 Idle
I have moved the battery behind the firewall where the ignition is. I have a new battery Ni Cad 1400 ma and now is working good at mid-high rpms. The problem seems to be solved !, but I have another one.... The engine doesn´t want to run good at some point close to 1/3 of throttle. It is running good in all throttle´s stick spectrum, but at only one specific point (little over 1/3 throttle), it starts to run erratically. It is not running smooth, is like the spark is missing randomly ( it doesn´t seems like a carb. problem) If you move the throttle stick one click up, then it is ok, if you move the stick one click down, it is also ok. When the plane is on the air, it seems like it is going to stop when you pass that specific point with the throttle stick. I was playing a bit with the low idle screw, it is not making any effect.
Those are the symptoms. Is it a CH ignigtion problem? I have another CH ignition, should I replace it and see what happens? What else?. I have closed a bit the plug´s gap, the problem still, just changed to a lower place on the throttle stick (one tick lower) . Thank you again. |
RE: BME 44 Idle
Problem solved.
KEITH at BME was very supportive and accurate. He told me to change the battery for a Ni Cad type, also to re-wired the whole system again, as he wrote me: "..It could be a broken wire or bad switch that only makes intermittent contact at that specific vibration level or rpm associated with the vibration...." . That was it. The engine is running smooth now. |
