Jersey Modeler ?

For those that are using the Jersey Modeler fuel cans..When you de-fuel your plane, what keeps you from back-flushing all the junk back into the can? Im talking about the ones with the hand pumps..

Since the fuel can is filtered, how much junk would have gotten in the tank in the first place?

I see your point..I guess Im trying to avoid pumping it back into the can if possible..

There really is no reason to empty it out as far as I know. There's no moisture issues like glow and if you plug up your vent you can rotate the plane in any position when transporting it from your vehicle to the house. I guess for long term storage it would be better to empty the tank.

Hmm never thought about the moisture issue..I dont really need to turn the plane upside down or anything when transporting so I guess I can leave whatever gas is left at the end of the day in the tank..Thanks!!

What I do is not worry about junk being pumped back into the can when I take fuel out of the plane. The filter works both ways, and once I'm done, I pump a few turns back into the can to flush the filter so anything that got stopped by the filter is then in the can. When I fuel the plane, the filter removes any junk for me.
