MVVS 35cc
I have an OS 160 in a GSP Katana 72'' and am looking for a replacement gasser. I need something that is either equal too or better than in the power department. These motors seem of good quality but i havn't seen one in the flesh. the other motors im looking are the Fuji 43ei and the RCS 180 but i think this would be under powered.
Any advice would be appreciated Cheers Dale |
RE: MVVS 35cc
I have an MVVS 35. Perfect for a 12-13lb airplane in 3D. One of my best purchases.
Mine is mounted on a OMP Giant Yak. Scan my forum history for pics. Make sure you get the tuned pipe and header combination from the manufacturer. Favorite props are 3W or Bambula 20x8, Pro Zinger 22x6. Low 7000's on all. |
RE: MVVS 35cc
What are the vibration levels like compared to something like an OS 160
|
RE: MVVS 35cc
Vibration is comparable to what I had with a Moki 180 on the same plane.
Very smooth. Make sure your props are balanced. |
RE: MVVS 35cc
Does any body have any rpm figures on this motor.

RE: MVVS 35cc
Have been running-in this engine this weekend. Got 7000 rpm on a Menz 19*10 with a Krumscheid 1025 pipe.
These rpm's are about the same that I got with a ZDZ40. |
RE: MVVS 35cc
I get 7500 from my MVVS 35 with a Zinger 20-8 Pro, the muffler is the inverted rectangle box, with this muffler the 3W 20-10 was just to much prop, I got a max RPM of 5900, I tuned it at 5700 and it wouldn't pull vertical like the 20-8 would,,, I now have a 3W 20-8 I'm hoping to try in about 3 week's, I'm sure it will pull much better than the Zinger,,,
Hans Meij ,,, is the Krumscheid 1025 pipe a tuned pipe ?? Jim |

RE: MVVS 35cc
The thing that concerns me mostly about the 35 is the weight, it is very heavy when compared with the zdz50 and even compared to the MVVS 26. I am interested if anybody has any prop figures on the 26 also, in the long run it may suit my application better

RE: MVVS 35cc
I have just bought a 2m katana havn't built it yet but i;m pretty sure that i will be able to balance out the weight of the motor. It looks like the plane wil come out to be around the 15lb mark so the MVVS 26 i thibk will be too samll to power it. and here's to hoping the the 35 will be spot on the money.
