Best 50 cc class engine

I´ve seen a lot of threads about this subject!! Why not start a poll?
So here it goes :D (in alphabetical order):

This type poll reminds me of political polls -
The actual performance has nothing to do with the poll

I never had a Taurus, or a BME, or a FPE, or a MVVS, or a DA, or what..........hmm. Let me see, I like the ones that never break:D

Since I only have had one 50cc engine and it is a Brison, then I vote for Brison!:)

define 50 class..
50.0001 cc to 59.999 cc ?
By that definition it looks like the MVVS 58 wins, hands down....

I like the idea of a poll, but the biggest problem is that DA has sold (I'm just making up a number) 5:1 over the other makes, which doesn't mean it's necessarily the best engine, but probably only indicates that DA has the best marketing. People are going to vote for what they have, or what they've heard the most about, so DA is going to win, which really isn't going to prove much of anything.....though it will be a fun exercise, I wish there was a way to quantitatively determine the best 50, but really there are too many factors. Everyone has different requirements and some engines will fit those requirements better than others....All this means is there isn't only one best engine. Although I have my favorite and voted for it, I think that you won't go wrong with any of the engines listed, except I wouldn't buy the DA...YET. Although I think it has potential as one of the top 50cc engines I think more time has to pass before we know that all the design issues have been fixed.

Ralph, that is only true if the primary criteria for choosing the best is power, which that was not stated, so exactly what does "best" mean here. A little definition here would be great.

Power
Reliability
Smoothness
Price
Availability
Service
Love :-) (I'm serious - emotion counts)

How about a poll that each person rates the above criteria from 1 - 10 for engines they have owned....of course, a lot of it would still be subjective, but I think the results would have more value.

Thanks for the suggestion bpryor. Would be nice to post another poll including all this criteria, but what I meant w/ best was an overall opinion including all this factors.

I figured that's what you had in mind, but unfortunately without doing a detailed survey and averaging the results, it is only going to prove who has sold the most engines...and we already know the answer to that one.
