What propeller do you use for a engine that big at 200+ MPH

Some prop comments:

I have a BME 50. I was getting:

MSC 22x8 6100 rpm
BME 22x8 6200 rpm

Mejzlik 22x8 7200rpm

The MSC is a big chunk of wood, but with wider blades it will pull harder at the same given RPM. I drove myself crazy trying to get more rpm out of my msc prop. I retimed the engine checked compression, mixed new gass, changed the plug, even ran it with the muffler off for one minute(200 rpm gain). Everything was perfect. I ordered a BME 22x8 and only gained 100 rpm. I was upset forums showed this engine making 7000 with 22x8. (i am at 600 feet). A friend was getting 7100 rpm with a bme 50 and a mejzlik 21 x 10. I finally found a Mejzlik 22x8 in stock and immediatly got 7200 to 7300. The engine is well broken in 20 gallons and I use the best tachometer TNC/Fromeco.
The moral of the story is that props make a big difference.

I saw a great improvment in the way the plane flew with a Mejzlik, I had a lot more momentum in my uplines and the speed of the uplines was more uniform from start to finish.
The plane was a 28% wildhare extra special.

A friend has a 28% wildhjare extra special with a DA 50 and a 23x8 nd my plane was faster straight and level and pulled harder than his, we tested this by flying in formation.

I am getting ready to order a BME 10 extreme for a 33% wildhare Extra 260(21.5 lbs):

I plan on using a 28 x 10 mejzlik for braek-in and flying, from my experience I believe a 28 x 10 mejzlik will have the same rpm's and a similar load to the recomended break in prop the BME 27 x 10.

I will use Penzoil Air Cooled 50:1 post break in.(i use this on my bme 50 and am very happy with it, besides after break in i can fly both planes on the same can of gas)

What oil and mixture do you recomend for break-in?

I used lawnboy 40:1 for break in for mine, or you could use the pennzoil at 40:1 as well

I'm always the odd ball out:D I run synthetic from the start, I am to lazy to mix different batches of fuel.

I do not recommend this though, always follow manufacturers recommendations or the warranty might be put in jeopardy.

Don't remember the prop, something around 22x22..it was carbon fiber...The plane was at a race in Gainesville, Texas..The Kelly was built for a Zenoah 445 twin...There was a square cornered hatch on top of the fuse for access to the fuel and receiver switch...We think a crack started at the corner of the hatch...We have learned a lot since then...;)
No more square corners...:D
