Looking for most powerful RC engine
I saw some large RC engines online, but can't find them now and don't remeber who made them.
It seems one was 60 hp and about 30lb. That is the size I need. Can anyone tell me who makes them or give me a link to them? Thanks a lot, Charles Medlock www.hovercopter.us |
RE: Looking for most powerful RC engine
Do a search for Ultralite Engines. I think Carr makes some of them.

RE: Looking for most powerful RC engine
Dick,
I know what a V8-60 is but 99.999% of this audience do not. They didn't race Midgets either! To avoid any chance for error let's make certain we have the option to run it on 'fuel' with or without a Norton 180. That, will allow us to pick the torque curve we need. |
RE: Looking for most powerful RC engine
The V8-60 weighed more than 30#, too. My cousin had one in a '39 Ford and I had one in a boat. You guys are dating yourselves.

A friend had one in a '38 Ford coupe, with straight exhaust pipes made from 3 inch brass bedposts..Quite a sound when backing down in 2nd gear at the end of the street:D
OOPS...better say "airplane" somewhere here, don't wanna get deleted:eek: |

RE: Looking for most powerful RC engine
Hi!
Reminds me of some of the movies from the thirties in which persons was trying out new inventions. Remember one "helicopter thingy" powered by a big V-8 or was it a Gnome Rhone rotating engine with a big parasoll flapping above...:D Hopping and jerking around tossing the pilot out before it shook itself to pieces! Hope this will work out better...! Regards! Jan K |
